American Dream

About

American Dream is one of the largest entertainment and retail destinations in the Western Hemisphere, spanning over 3 million square feet in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This isn't your typical shopping mall. It's a place where you can visit an aquarium, hit the slopes at an indoor ski park, ride roller coasters, and splash around in a water park, all under one roof.

SEA LIFE Aquarium is a standout attraction, home to thousands of aquatic creatures across interactive exhibits. You'll find touch pools, underwater tunnels, and themed zones that bring ocean life up close. The Nickelodeon Universe theme park offers dozens of rides and attractions, including coasters and family-friendly options spread across a colorful indoor space.

Big SNOW is North America's first indoor ski and snowboard park, offering real snow and groomed trails year-round. The DreamWorks Water Park features massive slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river kept at a comfortable 84 degrees. Both attractions make weather-irrelevant fun a reality.

Beyond the major attractions, American Dream houses over 100 shops and a wide selection of dining options ranging from quick bites to sit-down restaurants. An observation wheel offers sweeping views of the surrounding area, including the Manhattan skyline on clear days.

The complex is located just off the New Jersey Turnpike in the Meadowlands, making it accessible from New York City and the broader tri-state area. NJ Transit bus service connects to the property, and large parking structures are available on-site. Plan to spend a full day here, as there's genuinely enough to fill one.

Accessibility

American Dream is a modern, indoor facility built with ADA compliance in mind. The complex features wide corridors and flat surfaces throughout its retail and common areas, making wheelchair and mobility device access straightforward. The Dream Wheel observation attraction is confirmed to be wheelchair accessible.

Elevators and ramps connect the multiple levels of the complex, and accessible restrooms are available throughout the property. The enclosed, climate-controlled environment means visitors don't have to contend with weather, uneven outdoor terrain, or seasonal barriers.

Individual attractions within American Dream, such as SEA LIFE Aquarium, Nickelodeon Universe, Big SNOW, and DreamWorks Water Park, each have their own accessibility policies and accommodations. Ride and attraction access may vary based on specific physical requirements. It's worth checking with each venue directly before your visit for details on adaptive equipment, sensory accommodations, or attraction-specific limitations.

Accessible parking spaces are available in the on-site parking structures, located near building entrances and elevators. NJ Transit bus service to the complex offers an additional transportation option for those who don't drive.

For the most current and detailed accessibility information, including service animal policies, sensory-friendly event schedules, and specific attraction accommodations, contact American Dream's guest services team directly before planning your trip. Their staff can help coordinate any specific needs to ensure a smooth visit.
