About
Top of the Rock is the observation deck at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown Manhattan, spread across the 67th, 69th and 70th floors, about 850 feet above street level. The deck faces every direction, so visitors get a full loop of the skyline instead of a single angle.
Most people ride the elevator up, walk the open-air terraces on all three levels, and stop at the indoor Weather Room on the 67th floor, which has a cafe and bar serving drinks and light food. Two paid add-ons sit on top of the base ticket: SKYLIFT, a rotating glass platform that raises riders 30 feet above the 70th floor for about five minutes, and The Beam, a narrow platform roughly 12 feet up that seats up to seven guests at a time. SKYLIFT accepts wheelchairs and other mobility devices. The Beam does not allow wheelchairs, and guests who need assistance must be accompanied by someone in their party.
There is no time limit once you're on the deck, and most visits run 45 minutes to an hour. The building is open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, with last entry at 11:10 p.m. Standard timed admission starts at $42 as of 2026, and packages that add SKYLIFT or The Beam cost more. A security screening is required at entry, and large bags or luggage are not allowed since there is nowhere on site to store them.
The main entrance sits on 50th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, a two-minute walk from Radio City Music Hall and about seven minutes from the Museum of Modern Art. The closest subway stop is 47-50th Streets/Rockefeller Center, served by the B, D, F and M trains. Drivers can use a parking garage at 53 West 48th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, which offers a discounted rate for Top of the Rock visitors when booked in advance.
Accessibility
Top of the Rock is wheelchair accessible from the entrance to the top floor of the observation deck, though one of the two paid add-on experiences excludes wheelchairs.
The main entrance is on 50th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, with power-assist doors and no steps. From there, elevators run from street level to all three observation floors, on 67, 69 and 70, so there is no need to use stairs at any point in the visit.
Every public restroom at Top of the Rock has a wheelchair accessible stall. Restrooms sit on the 66th floor and are reached by elevator from the 67th floor deck. The indoor Weather Room on 67 has a seating area where a group can sit together, useful if standing on the open terraces for a long stretch isn't comfortable.
Of the two add-on experiences, SKYLIFT, the rotating platform above the 70th floor, accepts wheelchairs and other mobility devices. The Beam does not allow wheelchairs, and anyone who needs assistance there must be accompanied by a member of their party. Service dogs are welcome in all public areas of Top of the Rock, though they are not permitted on SKYLIFT.
Staff carry printed transcripts of the short films shown during the visit and will provide one on request; just ask any team member. The venue does not publish details on assistive listening devices, ASL services, or designated accessible parking, so call ahead at (877) 692-7625 to confirm those before you go.
